A familiar face in Riverside County politics is backing one of Sheriff Stan Sniff's 2018 challengers. Former district attorney Rod Pacheco has endorsed Dave Brown, the outgoing Hemet police chief. Brown is one of two candidates - sheriff's Lt. Chad Bianco is the other - who hope to unseat Sniff, who is up for re-election next year.
Riverside County Supervisor John Tavaglione on Wednesday, Sept. 27, became the second supervisor to endorse Hemet police Chief Dave Brown for sheriff, providing another boost to Brown's campaign to unseat Sheriff Stan Sniff.
Next June's race for Riverside County Sheriff is shaping up to be a competitive one. Amidst clashes with some members of the Board of Supervisors and the deputy's union, Sheriff Stan Sniff will face at least two challengers - sheriff's Lt. Chad Bianco and former Hemet police chief Dave Brown.
Editor's note: Three men have announced their candidacy for Riverside County Sheriff in the 2018 election. Challenging incumbent Stan Sniff are Riverside County Lt. Chad Bianco and Hemet City Police Chief Dave Brown. The Town Crier will interview each candidate before the June primary, when the top two vote getters will move to the November election.
