FORMER SHERIFF BOB DOYLE ENDORSES DAVE BROWN FOR RIVERSIDE COUNTY SHERIFF
RIVERSIDE, CA – Former Riverside County Sheriff Bob Doyle has endorsed Police Chief Dave Brown for Riverside County Sheriff.
"Chief Dave Brown is the only candidate for Sheriff with the right temperament and law enforcement leadership experience to restore morale and rebuild public confidence in the Riverside Sheriff’s Department," said Doyle.
Sheriff Doyle joined the Riverside Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy in 1975, and spent 32 years with the Department, including time as a Chief Deputy, Assistant Sheriff and Undersheriff, before being elected Sheriff in 2002, and reelected by a record margin in 2006. In September of 2007, Doyle left the Sheriff's Department to accept an appointment by then Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the State Board of Parole Hearings, where he served as Chairman.
"Through a lifetime of public safety leadership, Bob Doyle helped build the type of professional law enforcement organization for which everyone in Riverside County could be proud. If elected Sheriff, I will work to restore the professionalism and morale that existed under Sheriff Doyle's leadership," said Police Chief Dave Brown.
"Dave Brown is by far the best candidate in this race to move the Department forward. He is the only one with the proven executive experience to improve morale, retain talented employees and restore trust between local officials, the Department and the communities they serve." concluded Doyle.
Former Sheriff Bob Doyle recently released an "open letter" to the men and women of his former department regarding Chief Brown’s leadership. To read his letter, click here.
Sheriff Doyle joins Board of Supervisors Chairman John Tavaglione, Vice-Chairman Chuck Washington, the Murrieta Police Officers Association and a growing list of elected officials and community leaders that have endorsed Chief Dave Brown in recent weeks.
